Our subject: to protect Intellectual Property
It´s a long and onerous way from the first idea to a finished product. Considerable financial resources have to be invested into the development of a product and its establishment in the market. Intensive research is necessary until a product is ready for the market.
The products developed by companies have to be established in the market and their success is not guaranteed. Cycles of innovation shorten and products get copied after a short period of time. Consequently, it is important to give inventing companies the possibility to balance these risks
by means of effective and protective statutory instruments (e.g. trademarks, patents).
Intellectual property rights guarantee that companies can continue to invest in research and development. They give consumers clearness and orientation.

How to protect Intellectual Property
In general, it is not sufficient to be the first to launch a new product on the market to assure its success as the freedom to imitate is the basic principle. It is a different matter if property rights exist or special circumstances prohibit imitation.
Often intellectual property rights are acquired by enrollment in public registers, for some rights this is not necessary.
However, registered rights offer advantages in matters of probative value.
